After our second night at the place, we decided to wake up early and go for a ride before work. One of the reasons we bought this property is because of its proximity to the Pinellas Trail, which runs almost the entire length of the county. It's only a block and a half away!
The length of our rides differ. If we have all the time in the world, we'll do 10 miles out and 10 miles back. That's the most we can handle on our mountain bikes! We're going to get road bikes soon though. Ten miles south will put you in Dunedin. Ten miles "north" (it actually circles around Lake Tarpon, but you go north from our house) and you'll end up right at John Chestnut park. Today, we just went 5 miles south, which puts the turnaround point in Palm Harbor.
On our way back, within about a mile of downtown Tarpon Springs, is a restaurant called Rodie's. We stopped there for breakfast, since it's basically right on the trial. The service was incredible. Aric thoroughly enjoyed his scramble and I enjoyed their eggs benedict. Next time, I might have to spring for the french toast benedict!
