Two friends of ours who are passionate about draft beer invited us along as they toured the breweries of Tarpon Springs. We hit four breweries with them, and since we've already been to the fifth, we put together the following walk through Tarpon Springs, starting and ending at our home. The entire walk would take 45 minutes, but of course this goes by quickly when you're stopping at breweries along the way.
Unrefined Brewing: Located in an old home in downtown Tarpon Springs, just a few blocks from our house, is Unrefined Brewing. It's a cozy environment and I thoroughly enjoyed my blood orange wheat beer.
2. Silverking Brewing Co: Also located in downtown Tarpon Springs, a little off the beaten path, is an old jail turned brewery called Silverking. This place has a little bit of a dive feel, including a pool table and darts. Last time we were there, I ordered the blonde.
3. Two Frogs Brewing Company: located in the heart of downtown Tarpon Springs, right on Tarpon Avenue, is Two Frogs. You can sit in old timey furniture, check out the decorative ceiling, and hang out to watch sports or passersby.
4. Brighter Days Brewing Company: the new kid on the block (literally like a block from our house) is Brighter Days, located just outside of downtown right on the Pinellas Trail. We can't recommend their hazy IPAs enough. I may even get a growler soon.
5. Five Branches Brewing: if you want to shorten your walk, you could leave Five Branches off, but I wouldn't recommend it. The only brewery located next to the sponge docks, Five Branches is a cool place to go hang out, and even catch a game. Round #2 included some blueberry beers, and those were surprisingly great. You can also order salsa from them or food from nearby restaurants if you get hungry, and we did both.
Enjoy responsibly! :)
